The wind was what woke Claude up from the nap, hair getting into his face as he lay down. He must’ve gotten tired, resulting in this. It was not oncoming for him to be like this due to his condition, everyone around him knew it too.

“Did you sleep well?”

He looked up, Joseph’s face above him, looking down at the younger twin. He didn’t even realise he was sleeping on his lap, though there’s a good chance he had moved him, allowing him to rest in a more comfortable position. It would not be unheard of, knowing Joseph.

“Yes, I did.” Claude slowly rose up, carefully observing their surroundings. They came out for a picnic, it would be so long until they were going to have a sunny day like this. The weather was only going to get worse from now on, so might as well use what was left of it. However, no matter how much Claude wanted to enjoy it to the fullest, he’d always get tired halfway through it, so in the past, when they were still doing this with their parents, they’d have to cut it short. Now that they're alone, Joseph was perfectly fine with doing this in their yard, it was big enough in the end. No one was going to critique them or stop them, so Claude was at least enjoy himself a bit longer than before.

He looked over at the food they brought. They’ve eaten some of it, but some pastries were still left uneaten. They’d either be left for tomorrow or eaten while Joseph wasn’t looking, knowing how much of a sweet tooth Claude had, even if he shouldn’t eat it that much.

“We should get inside soon. You were sleeping for quite a while. It’s almost five.”

Claude could only look around, looking for the sun. It was still up, of course, until summertime ends it will be like this, but he’d always look for it regardless of the season. It was comforting and peaceful, just looking for it.

“I’d still like to watch the sunset.”

Joseph chuckled at that. “We can watch it inside. It will still take some time until then.”

He knew everything he did was out of worry for him, but Claude couldn’t help but think that sometimes, Joseph was pushing too much for his safety.

Not like he was going to complain too much, but it was still present.

“Alright. But you have to watch it with me then! No excuses this time!”

It’s not that Joseph didn’t like doing that, he just seemed to enjoy taking pictures of him watching the sunset rather than to watch it with him. Claude knew he was just preserving the moment he loved so much, but sometimes it felt like he couldn’t be in the moment.

“I will, I promise.”

Maybe for once he will do it.

Once Joseph picked up all their things, ready to carry them back to the house, Claude held his hand as they walked back in.
