There was a light noise as Aesop properly came to his senses. He was in the bathroom, washing his face as that happened. It was way too early for anything, but he still washed his face out of habit. He would've gone back to bed after it, but the odd choice of the radio being turned on changed that.

Joseph wasn't the one to turn it on at random, especially in the morning. He was not fond of much noise, so to see him do it on his own at this time was a bit odd. His choice was a rather calm program, so Aesop could see why he'd put that ok in the morning, especially if he wasn't trying to get up right away.

As he returned back to the room, Joseph was still on the bed, not in a sitting position. Possibly waiting for him? He wasn't the one to get up early either, especially on a weekend.

“What's with the radio?”

The other tilted his head a bit. “Are you surprised?”

“A bit, yes.”

He walked back to the bed, sitting down. Pushing himself underneath the sheets, he looked over to him, the other not seeming to care. Not that it mattered.

“You never do that.”

“I don't, yes.” Just stating it like that wasn't giving Aesop much. Maybe he was sick? He had moments where he'd act weirdly when that happened, and compared to everything else he'd seen at that state, turning on the radio was the best one on the list.

“This one's calm,” he said, referring to music. “The one we hear in the town isn't like that.”

“Probably because of the timing. And some stations just have quiet and relaxing music for the elderly.”

Aesop leaned against him, to which Joseph wrapped a hand around him. Not one bit of a reaction from the other.

“Thought you’d complain about me saying it’s for old people.”

“Oh, I got over your silly ‘old people’ jokes after a while. It doesn’t even phase me anymore.”

Regardless of how old he even was now due to everything, the jokes did still get to him, whether he liked it or not. This time it might’ve gone buy as it was still early, but if this was done past eight at least, Aesop would be receiving a lecture on how he shouldn’t be saying that.

“Do you want to rest more?”

“It’s very early, I in fact do.”

Aesop chuckled. “We’re sitting instead of lying down, are you sure about that?”

The short peaceful moment was interrupted by Joseph pushing him down onto the bed and then laying on top of him. It lacked all his usual elegance, but it was what he needed to do to get him to know his intentions.

“Laying down now.”

“So graceful for a noble.”

Joseph ignored his teasing, moving around a bit to be in a more comfortable position. It suited Aesop more too, not wanting to be crushed by his weight the whole time. They’ll probably just end up laying like this the whole morning, with the radio in the background, silently playing the calm music. If anything, a nice start of the day like this was appreciated and it was a bit out of their usual routine. A slight change from time to time is welcome.
